Ralph started at thyssenkrupp Uhde in 2001 in the R&D division. Eight years ago, he took on the roll of Head of Technology, Innovation & Sustainability at thyssenkrupp Uhde GmbH, responsible for all technology, intellectual property and R&D activities in Uhde's fertilizer, chemical, petrochemical and polymer businesses. Ralph has a degree in Chemistry from the University of Düsseldorf, a diploma and subsequently doctorate at the Max Planck Institute for Coal Research in Mülheim an der Ruhr in the field of polymer chemistry, catalysis and technology.
