Engineer Underground Technology,
STORAG Etzel
Henning Becker studied Petroleum Engineering at the Technical University Clausthal in Germany and the Technical University of Denmark in Copenhagen. After graduating in 2020 he joined a german provider for engineering and geoscientific services in underground storage projects as a subsurface engineer. His first project was the plug and abandonment of eight oil caverns in Germany. This included the geochemical modelling, the assessment of pressure tests and the planning of the P&A campaign. Beginning with the project H2CAST Etzel in 2022/23 he joined STORAG ETZEL as a trainee in the subsurface department. Together with the project team he worked on the re-completion of the two project caverns for hydrogen, pressure tests and the basic design of the surface facilities of the project. Besides his role in H2CAST, he works on maintaining the well integrity of the oil, gas and the future hydrogen caverns.
