Head of Institute,
ttz Bremerhaven
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Gerhard Schories studied Process Engineering at Technical University Clausthal, (Germany) with main focus on Mechanical Process Engineering, Energy Technology, Waste Processing. His Diploma Thesis dealt with the development of a combined aerobic and anaerobic process for biowastes’ treatment. He started his professional career in industry in the field of biowaste treatment systems. After two years in industry he returned to Technical University Clausthal (Germany) to work as a scientist in the Mass Transfer Laboratory leading to a Doctoral Thesis proposing a technology for treatment and re-use of organically highly polluted industrial wastes and wastewaters. After several more years in industry dealing with wastewater and waste management he joined in 2001 ttz (Technology Transfer Centre) Bremerhaven, a private, non-profit research center. In several departments and positions he was working on topics related to renewable energy, energy efficiency and water treatment. He was involved in numerous national, European and international research projects. Since his engagement in ttz he is continuously working also on Hydrogen technologies in different applications for energy supply and decarbonization. Since 2016 he is Head of Institute of ttz.
