Partnership over low carbon tech has been created between Getech and Expro
Getech and Expro have decided to partner up in order to work on particular low carbon technology projects. This partnership will include projects like low-carbon geoenergy projects, such as, geothermal energy, natural hydrogen and carbon capture and storage (CCS).
Through working together, the companies have created an excellent blend of Expro’s well evaluation and integrity, combined with Getech’s expertise in locating valuable subsurface resources. Getech does this through using geoscience knowledge, proprietary data and machine learning technologies.
The first step that the companies will take together within their newly formed partnership, will be to identify and expedite opportunities that appear throughout the emerging energy sector. This will be done in order to support the industry’s transition into a lower carbon future.
Whilst there is a large focus on geothermal projects, as well as projects centred around CCS and natural hydrogen, the collaboration that has been created between these two companies is also aiming to benefit Getech’s asset-based projects. This would be done through using the company’s domain-specific expertise, along with aid from their access to Expro’s excellent and diverse range of capabilities.
It has also been mentioned by both companies, that due to the use of Expro’s extensive international presence which covers sixty countries, the future hope for this project is that it will, at some point, be able to gain a global reach. This goal is already being focused on, as displayed by early initiatives being put in place, such as assessments of tender opportunities in places such as Asia, Central America and Europe.
Getech Chief Business Development Officer, Max Brouwers, mentioned, “Many low-carbon energy projects rely on efficient subsurface drilling – either to produce a direct energy resource such as heat or natural hydrogen, or to store resources safely underground such as CO2. Our alliance with Expro and access to its well expertise enables us to offer comprehensive solutions in response to the growing demand for renewable energy sources. Together we can address complex energy challenges more efficiently and help organisations decarbonise by offering subsurface low carbon solutions.”
Director for Sustainable Energy Solutions, Ingrid Huldal, said, “Expro’s unwavering commitment to sustainable energy solutions is fully in harmony with Getech’s core principles. Our demonstrated expertise in wells, with a proven global track record spanning geothermal, CCS, and natural hydrogen projects, is a source of pride. Collaborating with Getech extends our joint capabilities across a broader spectrum of the project lifecycle, creating a more comprehensive and impactful service for our clients. This strategic partnership not only enhances our value proposition but also streamlines project management, minimizes downtime, reduces operational expenditure and risk, and strongly aligns with our shared environmental commitments. As we witness a growing investment in renewable and decarbonization technologies, the synergies between Expro and Getech position us to play a pivotal role in advancing and supporting these transformative endeavours.”
