A new partnership starts between Pall Corporation and MTR Carbon Capture

A new partnership starts between Pall Corporation and MTR Carbon Capture

Pall Corporation and MTR Carbon Capture have agreed to combine Pall’s advanced flue gas filtration and coalescer technology with MTR’s Polaris™ membrane system. Doing this will create help the companies to achieve their goal of capturing carbon.

Altogether the main aim of this partnership is to promote a highly modular, scalable and also, cost-effective integrated solution. Using the two pieces of technology which have been provided by the companies, the project hopes to safeguard critical assets which will occur throughout the carbon capture workflow.

Whilst this occurs, another aim of the partnership, is for the companies to effectively identify, pilot and finally, drive and promote the adoption of decarbonisation solutions, especially when it comes to customers in emission-intensive industries. These industries could be anything from refineries to steel manufacturing, cement production or waste-to-energy facilities.

Further to this, the project has also made it clear that it will actively seek to engage other industry stake holders, these include, Engineering, equipment suppliers, Procurement and Construction (EPC) firms, project developers and finally, regulatory agencies who are based across the carbon capture value chain.

President of MTR Carbon Capture, Brett Andrews, commented, "MTR’s Polaris™ membrane technology offers distinct environmental and cost advantages for point source carbon capture and this collaboration is an important step in commercialising our membrane carbon capture offering. Pall's global reach, deep customer relationships and innovative filtration solutions that complement our membrane system enhance the value the offering brings to the market, and we look forward to working with Pall Corporation to make this collaboration a great success."

VP/GM of the Energy+ business unit of Pall, Greg Sears, mentioned, "Filtration systems play a pivotal role in carbon capture by effectively removing contaminants. As part of the flue gas pre-treatment system, and throughout the entire workflow, Pall’s technology ensures that only clean gases pass through the carbon capture system, maximizing membrane lifetime, safeguarding critical carbon capture equipment from contaminants, and optimizing the performance of carbon capture systems. We are proud to partner with MTR to bring proven, innovative solutions to the market."
