Mangrove Nexus has been selected by Summit Carbon Solutions for Digital MRV
It has been agreed that Summit will use Mangrove Nexus to manage data from multiple sources throughout the project value chain. This innovative platform will be used to aggregate operational and non-operational data and this will aid the carbon accounting, which is required to meet regulatory and commercial reporting requirements. The reason behind this drive to have a new platform, is because it is crucial for engaging with government programs, as well as compliance markets and finally, the voluntary carbon market (VCM).
Mangrove Nexus is incredibly innovative and very significant as it is a system which will support the digital measurement, monitoring and finally, the verification (dMRV) of Summit’s 18+ million ton per annum biomass carbon removal and storage (BiCRS) project in Midwestern United States. It is specifically designed to enable streamlines verification with independent validation and verification bodies (VVB), whilst also simplifying carbon credit issuances and serialization with carbon registries.
The purpose of Mangrove Nexus is to address the complex challenges of data management and commercialization, which are found within carbon value chains. Furthermore, the technology also provides project developers with transparent, traceable and evidence-backed digital MRV buyers, partners and finally, regulators.
CEO of Mangrove Systems, Brandon Vlaar, commented, "Mangrove is on a mission to power the world’s most important carbon projects. We’re incredibly excited to support Summit on what will be a landmark project for carbon removal, the agriculture industry, and the climate. Together, we are setting a new benchmark for best in class carbon data management.”
CTO, Summit Carbon Solutions, Jason Cradit, added, "Mangrove Nexus is an important component of our technology strategy, supporting the commercialization of our project. The capabilities of the solution, combined with Mangrove’s expertise in carbon markets, make them an ideal partner for our project.”
