AquaVentus – Green hydrogen from offshore wind and the best possible transport of green energy in the German North Sea
The presentation will discuss system integration of offshore electrolysis in the North Sea with a full infrastructure cost analysis. A holistic picture on the question how to utilise the intermittent wind energy potential in far flung offshore areas most efficiently is the core pillar. The talk will be based on brand new study findings (release date will be in September 2024) investigating "mixed-grid" energy systems (electrons and molecules) at sea that investigate electricity transportation by sea cable in combination with hydrogen transportation by offshore-pipelines.
